Going green is the current trend these days which implies to our room décor as well. Apart from being eco-friendly, the process is affordable too.

The point is to use renewable and recyclable materials for decorating. Thus, for room accessories, opt for organic building materials like wool, cotton, hemp or jute. Recyclable wooden furniture and flooring (made from cork or bamboo) are another good option. The organic stuffs help to purify the air in your house. Cover the floors with various area rugs (woolen or cotton). They help a lot to preserve heat needed especially in the winters. Stones are also eco-friendly and you can utilize it for the floors, cabinets or counter tops.

While painting the room, avoid the regular paints since they emit toxic substances. Try out the natural and zero or low VOC paints. Invest in solar energy since it does not release any hazardous green house gases unlike the fossil fuels.

With the depleting amount of natural sources of energy present in the world, it becomes absolutely necessary for us to grow and nurture new and modern alternatives for energy. These modern sources of energy should have many advantages and they should remove the demerits that our present day energy sources have.

One of the main back draws about the present day energy sources is the fact that they are polluting our environment. Fossil Fuels and other gaseous fuels give out harmful substances that pollute our ozone layer. This leads to the penetration of harmful substances into our environment. But if we use harmless sources of energy such as Solar Energy and Wind Energy, we will not put out planet under any kind of risk.

Using these alternative energy sources would mean that we are saving out planet so that our future generations can enjoy it like we did.

Deforestation is one of the chief reasons behind the increasing level of global warming these days. And one of the most effective ways to combat the problem is to recycle and reuse our used papers. It would save lots and lots of trees and lead us to a much greener world in the coming years.

Thus, handle your paper boxes with care so that you can reuse them further as containers for various things. Always utilize both sides of your copy or notepad and do not leave unnecessary spaces. It is better to use a pencil (if possible) so that you can rub off your mistakes.

Collect old magazines, office papers and newspapers from your home and office and send them to the recycling centers. Keep recycling bins in your houses and workplaces to encourage the process. Donate the old books to some libraries or schools. Try to opt for those paper products which are the recycled ones. While in office, send e-mails rather than paper memos.
