The use of green technology in architectural designs of beautiful towers and cities has accomplished a great task. Some of the modern wonders of green technology are: Bahrain World Trade Center, MagLev Wind Turbine, Lighthouse skyscraper, Dongtan Eco City and Lilypad Project.
The Bahrain Trade Center is architecturally impressive with three huge wind turbines between two towers of the main building. This helps in generating power from wind in massive quantities. Another important project using wind power is the MagLev Wind Turbine that uses magnetism to move the blades. The power that this generates has the capacity to light up 750,000 homes! Another example is the solar tower in Spain that generates electricity and looks just fabulous. The Lighthouse skyscraper is designed using green technology like solar energy and wind energy that can recover lost energy and water. Another wonder would be the Dongtan Eco City, in every way green – socially, culturally and economically. These might be hard to replicate but research is on.
